With most Harleys you can do stuff, such as going to other cities, touring, carrying things. Some are very good at this, like the Road King, but because of its Fifties styling – and possibly the badge on the tank – many people won’t get it.

With the Sportster-based Forty-Eight you get the retro styling and the badge, but you can’t do stuff with it. Not much, anyway. It has Harley’s famous and near-vestigial “peanut” fuel tank, which holds just 1.75 gallons.
