Billy Balcer haggled for nine months to reach a deal with the 1947 Knucklehead’s original owner and reluctant seller. According to Balcer, the bike was barricaded by sheets of plywood in a locked garage. After the purchase, Balcer realized that the Knucklehead’s serial number mimicked his phone number. He figures acquiring the Knucklehead was a “cosmic meant to be kind of thing.”
